Project summary:

The project will develop targeted, innovative, quality-assured training that delivers standardised skills and knowledge for off-site manufacturing and assembly in construction.  It will use a range of blended learning solutions that draw from and build upon existing content.

Resources will be made freely available on the Supply Chain Sustainability School (SCSS) platform along with the skills diagnostic tool and trainer upskilling resources, underpinned by SCSS learner management systems. 

After the project MTC will achieve scalability of the developed materials through the networks within partners National Open College Network (NOCN) and Supply Chain School  NOCN will disseminate through its network of 600 providers, quality assure the materials and commit to maintaining them for at least two years after the project. Industry training materials on offsite will be freely available through the Supply Chain School website.

The UK’s nuclear renaissance, commencing with the nuclear new build at Hinkley Point C, presents skills and competency challenges.

The ONR-regulated construction environment demands higher quality, bespoke training solutions for the supply chain. However, the cost of consultative and collaborative engagement with specialists cannot be met from current skills funding.

The client has invested significant capital to support development and delivery, but revenue support is needed to achieve sustainability. Revenue funding will add further value by driving down future regulated build costs..

DMR Training & Consultancy Limited (DMR) is proposing to extend its current NVQ qualification assessment service to employers in the finishing and interiors and plant operations sectors, by increasing its capacity and training and assessment service throughout Great Britain. DMR is proposing to support employers in the 2 sectors to address their skills gaps. This will result in the recruitment of new assessors and Internal Quality Assurance staff (IQA’s), the re-deployment of existing assessors and an investment in the skills, qualifications and professional development of new and existing assessors. DMR will offer employers the opportunity for new and existing employees to undertake nationally recognised NVQ qualifications as part of employee development and upskilling arrangements with directed training support made available, as required.

Project summary:

Seymour Civil Engineering Contractors Limited are currently establishing a Civils Training Academy where General Construction Apprenticeships and Study programmes will be delivered in partnership with Hartlepool College of Further Education.

The Academy will also provide NPORS (the National Plant Operations Registration Scheme) accredited training in Plant operations alongside Health and Safety qualifications by its own qualified and dedicated trainers.

They aim to provide NVQs in Plant operations as well as to increase the number of skilled operatives in the North East and Yorkshire regions.

They want to upskill Seymour CEC Operatives to become assessors and increase availability of on-site assessments. They will support other employers by extending this service to small, medium and large employers.
