This two-day course teaches how to interpret design specifications and statutory regulations when inspecting complex scaffolding structures for faults.
Learners must have either a CISRS Inspection Card (or earlier equivalent), a CISRS Scaffolder Card held for at least two years, or a CISRS Advanced Scaffolder Card (blue card).
You'll get the CISRS Advanced Scaffolding Inspection Training Scheme (SITS Advanced) Certificate on passing the course. We will then apply for your CISRS Advanced Scaffold Inspection Card.
Course content
The course includes:
- Regulations and approved Codes of Practice
- Scaffolding terminology
- Scaffolding components
- Scaffold ties.
Construction of complex scaffolds may include:
- Ramps
- Gantries
- Temporary roofs
- Slung scaffolds
- Cantilever drop scaffolds
- Shoring
- Falsework
- Practical inspection and reports.
Teaching and assessment
Classroom-based theory, practical exercises and computer-based training
Written and practical tests

CISRS Scaffolding Inspection Training Scheme (Advanced SITS) Certificate
CISRS Scaffolding Advanced Inspection Card, which we will apply for on your behalf
Entry requirements
- At least one of the following current cards:
- CISRS Scaffolder Card (held for at least two years)
- CISRS Advanced Scaffolder Card
- CISRS Basic or Advanced Scaffold Inspection Card (may be expired if your reason for attending is renewal).
- CITB Health, Safety & Environment Test passed within the last 23 months, or an accepted exemption in place at the time of booking.
- Good spoken and written English.
- Valid form of ID. See accepted forms of ID.
