A 2-day course for anybody who works with plant machinery.
Covers risk and safe working near other plant vehicles and/or obstructions, also excavation awareness and traffic/vehicle movements.
Course content
- Understand legal responsibilities under Health & Safety at Work Act, PUWER, and CDM regulations
- Identify common site hazards, including slips, trips, falls, and moving plant
- Learn safe manual handling techniques to prevent injury
- Understand working at height and the correct use of ladders, scaffolds, and harnesses
- Recognise electrical, fire, and chemical hazards on site
- Use personal protective equipment (PPE) correctly and consistently
- Understand traffic management and safe segregation of pedestrians and plant
- Learn effective communication and reporting procedures on site
- Promote environmental awareness and pollution prevention measures
- Apply knowledge to maintain a safe working environment and reduce accidents.
Teaching and assessment
2 days of classroom-based practical activities.

CITB National Construction College e-certificate available on request.
