A 5-day course on the operation of a ride-on road roller for those with little or no experience. Get your CPCS Trained Operator (red) Card if you pass the technical test.
Experienced but need formal qualification? Consider the 2-day course.
Course content
- All pre-start, running, and shut-down procedures
- Set roller for travel
- Awareness of on-site hazards
- Set the roller for compaction duties
- Place roller in out-of-service
- Recognise compacted/uncompacted areas
- Conditions that may cause instability
- Safety procedures for unsupported edges
- Loading and unloading a transporter.
Teaching and assessment
- 4 days classroom learning and practical exercises
- 1-day CPCS technical tests.
What you get
- CPCS Trained Operator Card (red card) on passing the CPCS technical tests
- CITB National Construction College e-certificate available on request.
Entry requirements
- CITB HS&E test passed within the last two years, or the new CPCS Plant Operative Health, Safety and Environment Test - NOCN Job Cards
- Good spoken and written English
- Valid form of ID. See accepted forms of ID.
