How to pay the Levy
How much Levy is due will be communicated to you in your Levy Assessment Notice, normally issued in Spring following Levy Return submission. This document will also include your payment date and payment options available to you.
Payment methods
There are two ways you can pay the Levy:
- Pay monthly by interest-free Direct Debit. This service helps you to spread your payments and is easy to set up.
- Pay in full as one lump sum. Bank details for full payment can be found on your Levy Assessment Notice.
When to pay
You need to pay the Levy or set up a Direct Debit to pay by instalments, within one month of receiving your Levy Assessment Notice, which is usually dispatched in April.
You need to have paid your Levy in full or have made appropriate Direct Debit arrangements to pay it, to be eligible to receive grant payments.
Interest-free Direct Debit instalments are normally collected in the ten months between May and February. The exact amounts of each instalment and dates of your Direct Debit will be detailed in your Levy Assessment Notice for existing plans and confirmed in a Direct Debit instalment plan for all new arrangements.
How to set up your Direct Debit
There are two ways you can set up your direct debit - by post or by email.
By post
Complete the direct debit mandate and return it by post to:
Construction Industry Training Board (CITB)
CITB Box 30

Phoenix House
Newport

By email
Complete the direct debit mandate and return it by email to: levy.grant@citb.co.uk
Once received, our team will set up payment and at least 10 days before the first payment is due, we'll send you two documents:
- Confirmation of bank details, as provided
- A Direct Debit instalment plan, detailing the date and amount of each instalment
Provided you submit your Levy Return on time each year and don't cancel your Direct Debit, the payment plan will remain in place year to year.
