Today, CITB unveiled its Business Plan for 2024-25. The new direction sets out to build on previous plans and shows how they will support and empower employers by investing £267m over the coming year.

On Saturday 30 September, CITB’s National Construction College, Bircham Newton, hosted the Plant Operator of the Year competition. Almost 1,000 people attended to watch the 69 competitors battle it out to be crowned UK Plant Operator of the Year. After a day of demonstrating outstanding skill and knowledge, Gordon Durno from Currie Contractors, lifted the prize and was awarded a cheque for £10,000.

The Department for Education (DfE) will imminently be announcing its scheduled review into the role and effectiveness of both the Construction Industry Training Board (CITB) and the Engineering Construction Industry Training Board (ECITB).

I like to keep things simple which is why CITB’s new Business Plan has one overriding aim: to put employers in the driving seat on skills and training.

Focusing on three core priorities, CITB published its Business Plan today (11 April), announcing it will be investing over £250m across Britain to support construction.
