As part of the Sector Skills Council for Construction, CITB-ConstructionSkills has the responsibility to ensure that the construction industry has the fully trained and skilled workforce that it needs. CITB-ConstructionSkills’ Sector Skills Agreement (2005) summarises the construction industry’s skill needs, and the extent to which current training meets these needs. It identifies gaps and weaknesses in the current system, and sets out the actions that need to be taken with key partners and stakeholders in order to meet the challenges of improving performance and productivity.
