Migration and UK Construction 2021

The end of EU freedom of movement and the introduction of a new Points Based Immigration System was always going to be a challenge for the construction industry. CITB’s 5th study on Migration in the UK Construction Industry examines the impact of both the end of EU freedom of movement and disruption caused by the Covid-19 pandemic on migration in the industry and how this is affecting employers and skills.

This report highlights the importance of a flexible system that responds quickly to evidence of skills pressures in the industry.
