Our methodology and service
CITB produces a number of reports about the construction industry annually. Our aim is to identify and understand trends and key issues that have a direct impact on the industry. We do this by conducting qualitative and quantitative studies on a range of topics: from careers, training and workforce migration to innovation, productivity and sustainability.
How we conduct our research
Our research needs are determined by our roles as a Sector Skills Council and an Industry Training Board. We also take into account economic drivers, immediate and emerging policy issues and industry skills challenges.
To meet these needs, our research process includes:
- Continuous labour market intelligence
- Analysis of industry change – economic, demographic and technological
- Forecasting labour and skills requirements
- Bespoke primary research
- Evaluation work
The reports that we produce are free to download. However, there are restrictions on how you can use the information in these reports. Read our guidelines on how to use CITB research.
