Which courses are eligible?

Level 2 and above, see a full list of Apprenticeships which are eligible for grant.

If you know of a construction related apprenticeship that is not already on the list of grant eligible Apprenticeships, you can submit a suggest a course form for further consideration.

How much is it?

Grant rates depend on the apprenticeship type and the duration of the course.

Rates are fixed for the duration of the apprenticeship as given in the Grants Scheme year the apprenticeship starts, even if they change in later Grants Scheme years, or if the apprentice changes employer. This includes where an apprentice progresses from a Level 2 to a Level 3 apprenticeship.

Apprenticeships may vary in length, so attendance grants are prorated based on their duration.

For apprentice starts from 1 April 2019 onwards the grant rates are as below:

  • Attendance grant rate is £2,500 per year
  • Achievement grant is £3,500 on successful completion of the apprenticeship

For apprentice starts before 1 April 2019 rates may differ.

If we’re not satisfied that you’re providing adequate training, we may reduce, withhold or reclaim the grant.
